Raga by definition means “Colour” or “Passion” in Sanskrit. In Indian Classical music, they are the melodic scales based on its seven notes and provide the foundation for a musical composition. Ragas can be customized based on mood (Rasa), season and time of the day, number of notes (Jati) and the parent scale (Thaat). The Raga View of the Composition Frame in the Compose Pane lets you do all of this and more. It allows you to fine tune your creations to the micro-tonal level based on frequency called Shruti. Not only can you customize the inbuilt selection of Ragas, you can also add ones that are missing from the list or create your own.
